Visit of Narbonne and La clape wine region, the pearl of roman vineyards

Discover the Roman city of Narbonne and its famous market, have lunch at the salt marshes of Gruissan or try the gastronomic experience at the chateau de l’Hospitalet and discover the wines of the excellent terroir of La Clape.

In the morning, your guide will pick you up at home (Montpellier, Béziers, Pezenas or Narbonne), you will then start the day with a visit of the city of Narbonne, founded by the romans in -118 BC. Discover its lovely city center split by the Robine canal, its cathedral (the 4^th highest in the country) and of course its famous and lively indoor food market! Wander through the stalls and taste some of our delicious regional specialties if you wish (not included) 

For lunch you guide will drive you to the coast to enjoy a delicious seafood lunch in front of the Salt lake of Gruissan, nicknamed “the pink lake”, it is one of the most remarkable natural areas of the territory.

Alternatively you can also choose to treat yourself with a gastronomic experience at the high end restaurant of Chateau de l’Hospitalet and enjoy there a delicious 4 courses menu paired with their range wines.

In the afternoon, visit a winery in the La clape wine region. This pearl of the Narbonne vineyards was first an island that offered hospitable shelters to navigators, it is now welded to the continent. Raised on cliffs, covered with scrubland and umbrella pines, bordered by ponds and dominating the sea, the La Clape massif is also the site of an exceptional, typically Mediterranean PDO.
